Privacy Policy
Updated 10 September 2026This policy explains how NotchBud for Mac and iPhone handles information. NotchBud is provided by Mutant BV. For privacy questions, contact hello@notchbud.com.
Briefings and todos
Your Markdown briefings, todos, priorities, completion state, and feedback are stored on your device or in the folder you choose. When you choose iCloud, Apple synchronizes that information through your iCloud account. We do not operate a server that receives your briefing or todo files, and do not have access to your private iCloud folder.
Calendar and reminders
With your permission, the app accesses calendar events to display meetings and support calendar features. Notifications can show task reminders and upcoming meetings. Meeting Live Activities can display a meeting title and countdown on your Lock Screen or Dynamic Island. Manage permissions and notification previews in your device settings. Opening a meeting link connects you to the meeting provider under its own privacy policy.
Your AI assistant
AI setup prompts are instructions you can give to a separately configured assistant. NotchBud does not itself connect to your email or chat accounts or send your files to an AI service. If you grant an assistant access to a folder, email, calendar, or messaging service, that assistant can process the information you authorize under its provider’s policies. Review those permissions independently.
Music and external services
On Mac, enabled media features read playback information from supported apps. Artwork or website icons may be retrieved from the media provider or an external image service. Such requests disclose the requested image or domain and ordinary connection information, such as your IP address, to that service. Opening links uses the destination service’s own privacy practices.
Purchases
App Store purchases are processed by Apple. NotchBud uses Apple’s purchase verification to determine whether Lifetime Unlock is active. We do not receive your payment card details. Purchases made through the earlier website edition are processed by Polar under its own privacy policy.
Analytics and support
The App Store app does not include advertising or third-party analytics SDKs. Apple may provide app diagnostics or sales information according to your Apple settings and Apple’s policies. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever information you include and use it to respond and resolve the request. Avoid sending private briefing content unless needed for support. The website hosting provider processes ordinary web request information to deliver and secure the site.
Control, retention, and deletion
You can revoke calendar and notification permissions in system settings and change the selected folder in NotchBud. You control files in your local or iCloud folder and can delete them there. Deleting synced files may remove them from other devices. The app may clean up old daily briefings according to its retention behavior. Removing the app does not necessarily delete files you stored in iCloud or a separate folder. We retain support correspondence only as needed to handle your request and meet applicable obligations.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to our processing of your personal information, and to data portability. Contact us to exercise these rights concerning information we hold, such as support correspondence. You may also complain to your local data protection authority. Apple and other services you choose handle requests for data they control.
Changes
We will update this page when our privacy practices change and revise the date above.
